April 4th marks the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Martin Luther King, Jr.  The library will host a livestream of the day's commemoration ceremony at the National Civil Rights Museum, located at the Lorraine Motel where King last stood.  The event in Memphis will feature live performances, spoken word, and entertainment celebrating the life and legacy of Dr. King.  Community members are welcome to come watch the livestream anytime between 11:00 and 7:00.

The community is also invited to join in a nationwide bell tolling at 7:07 p.m.  Bells will ring 39 times to honor the number of years Dr. King dwelled on this earth and to pay homage to his legacy.  More information on MLK50 may be found at mlk50.civilrightsmuseum.org
