National Library Week 2025

What draws people to the library? Everything! From books to digital resources to creative programming, libraries are essential to thriving communities.

National Library Week, April 6th-12th, 2025 is a time to celebrate the many ways libraries bring people together, spark imagination, and support lifelong learning.

Have you heard of our Library of Things? It’s an ever-expanding collection of items that includes musical instruments, tablets for kids, memory kits, and more! Visit www.pulaskicounty.lib.in.us/things to see a full list. This is just one more way people are drawn to the library! Check out an item from the Library of Things this month and receive a special token for use at the library Book Sale!

Help recognize our staff on Library Workers Day on Tuesday, April 8th, and join us in our café/lounge for cookies & coffee all day on Patron Appreciation Day on Wednesday, April 9th.

During National Library week, take a tour of the library to enter to win a large pizza from Tippy’s. Plus, all new resident library card registrants will receive a free 1-topping Tippy’s pizza! This opportunity is made possible through donations to the library's Gift Memorial Fund.

Come see years' worth of library history with our gallery of Read posters on display in the Reading Room.

We'll have even more fun things happening onsite during the week – you'll have to come in and see for yourself!

We're also announcing a new digital service: Playgarden Prep Online! This online preschool program is offers daily lessons with certified teachers, pre-recorded videos, live classes on Zoom, hands-on learning tools, playdates for socializing, DIY projects, and more! Learn more and register your child.

Playgarden Prep Online is just one of our dozens of digital services and resources. See them all and try something new at https://www.pulaskicounty.lib.in.us/resources

Whatever draws you to the library, we hope to see you during National Library Week!
